[02] Important Information About Our Regulatory Status

Regal Law Centre is a firm of solicitors. However, we practise exclusively in areas of law that are not "reserved legal activities" under the Legal Services Act 2007. This means our practice structure is distinct from that of a traditional law firm undertaking activities such as conducting court litigation or obtaining grants of probate.

A key difference relates to our professional indemnity coverage. While all practising solicitors are required to be insured:

In Scotland, we are regulated by the Law Society of Scotland but do not participate in its Master Policy indemnity insurance scheme for reserved activities.
In England & Wales, we are not regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) for reserved activities and therefore do not operate under the SRA's minimum terms indemnity insurance scheme.

Instead, we hold our own robust and comprehensive professional indemnity insurance policy that is specifically tailored to cover the non-reserved legal services we offer.

[03] Our Team's Qualifications

All of our solicitors are fully qualified and regulated by the Law Society of Scotland. In addition, our solicitors are also qualified as Notaries Public, enabling us to provide notarial services for documents intended for use overseas.

[04] Benefits of Our Specialised Model

Our focused practice model allows us to provide expert legal services with distinct advantages for our clients, including:

Cost-Effectiveness: Our structure enables significant operational savings, which we pass on to our clients through more competitive and transparent fee structures.
Specialised Expertise: We concentrate on specific, non-reserved areas of law, allowing us to develop deep, practical expertise and highly efficient processes.
Flexibility & Client-Focused Service: Our model allows for greater flexibility and innovation in how we deliver our services, often resulting in a more streamlined and responsive client experience.
Notarial Services: As qualified Notaries Public, we can seamlessly provide notarial authentication and certification, offering a convenient and integrated service for our clients' international legal needs.
